an UNIX system but will compile and run under DOS 6.22 and Windows 3.1. If you are
using a non-UNIX system, CHANGE the .C extension to .CPP or .C++ or etc!
.C extension was used because that's how UNIX make and GNU C++ compiler recognize C++ files.
